Our heating and hot water systems are selected to suit the size and type of your home. Typically, space heating is provided by radiators that are connected to either a conventional or combination boiler.
You can see what type of boiler you have at a glance. If you have an airing cupboard containing a hot water cylinder you have a conventional system boiler. If you don’t have a hot water cylinder, your boiler is a combination boiler, or ‘combi boiler’ as they’re commonly known.
With a conventional boiler, hot water is stored in the cylinder and piped around your home as needed. Whereas, combi boilers heat water directly from the mains supply as and when it is needed. Both systems are highly reliable and very efficient.
Your boiler will normally be located in your kitchen or utility room. It will have a flue at the top or side that passes through the outside wall of your home to vent waste gases outside.
With a conventional boiler, the water temperature is controlled by a thermostat on the cylinder. With a combi boiler, the temperature control is located on the boiler itself.
Before you move into your home, you will be invited to a Home Demonstration where you’ll be shown how everything works. Your boiler will then be set to meet your requirements ready for when you move in.
